Introduction

Hey guys!
Sorry to be getting this up a little late, but I just wanted to introduce you to our class blog and show you what a blog is according to Google.

"Blogging is basically like keeping an online journal. Blogging sites have become increasingly popular, where people can write, or rant, about whatever subject they want"
"A Web site on which an individual or group of users record opinions, information, etc. on a regular basis"

Here is what you need to know about your blogs:
1) They must be on Blogger.com, so I can link to them.
2) Blogger accounts can be linked to your Gmail; technically, you all have Gmail accounts already (through Clemson!). You do not have to use your student account, but it is preferable.
3) I may put prompts up for your weekly posts at the beginning of some weeks. I will announce these early on. Be sure to check this frequently. Also, as we progress into the argumentative research assignment, your prompts may move from discussion questions to research logs. Don't worry about that now; I will give you more details when we reach that point.
4) Your blog title, layout, and name are up to you. I only ask that they are class appropriate, and email them to me by 5 PM FRIDAY with an introductory post based on the first reading, your first day of class, the first day of class discussion (Friday), etc.

If you would like to see some examples, here are some blogs:

Maybe this will help a little, if you're having trouble setting one up, send me an email at charlsi@clemson.edu.
I'm really looking forward to this class! If you need a little inspiration, here's a little cartoon that may resonate with you:

See you soon!
